Giữa tháng 8, Dell thông báo việc tham gia vào thị trường smartphone bằng Mini 3i, model dành cho thị trường Trung Quốc với màn hình cảm ứng rộng 3,5 inch. Máy sử dụng hệ điều hành mở Open Mobile System, một nền tảng của Android.
Dell Mini 3i không có kết nối Wi-Fi lẫn 3G, máy sở hữu camera 3,2 Megapixel, thiết kế mỏng gọn. Dưới đây là một vài hình ảnh ban đầu của model này tại Trung Quốc.

1 điểm cộng cho tinh thần "ham bon chen" của Dell khi lấn sân vào thị trường thiết bị di động, nhưng Dell sẽ còn phải cố gắng nhiều, vì giữa 1 "rừng" các mẫu điện thoại bóng bẩy của các hãng khác thì chiếc smartphone của Dell quá...xấu!
